Cloud Computing Provider Appoints New Board Member.

visionapp AG, a leading vendor of Software as a Service (SaaS) and cloud computing solutions, has appointed Richard Seibt (57), CEO at Open Source Business Foundation (OSBF), as a new member of its supervisory board.

Richard Seibt replaces Rolf Brodbeck, who left the board at the end of 2009.

Spun off from the Frankfurt-based Dresdner Bank in 2002, visionapp AG became an independent legal entity in 2006 as part of a management buyout from Allianz Group. The company is run by its founders, Jörg Krick and Jan Zirn, together with Jürgen Gallmann, who was appointed CEO in December 2009.

Richard Seibt comes with over 30 years of international professional experience in the IT industry. Following his professional debut at IBM Germany in the sales department, he held various management positions in the fields of business development, sales and marketing, first in Germany, later also across Europe. As managing director of IBM Germany he was in charge of the IBM software sales and marketing activities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, later as Vice President also in North America. Eventually he became General Manager for the worldwide OS/2 business. In 1998 Richard Seibt became an executive board member at United Internet AG. In January 2003 he was appointed CEO and Chairman of the Board at SuSE Linux AG. Following the sale to Novell he became President for the EMEA region. Since he left in May 2005, he has been supporting promising software companies focusing on open-source software, SaaS and cloud computing business models.

"We are very happy to be able to welcome such an internationally well-known software expert and we believe that, with his great experience, Richard Seibt will make a major contribution to visionapp's further development", says Prof. Andreas Creutzmann, Chairman of the Board of visionapp AG.

"visionapp has developed trendsetting technologies and products for SaaS or cloud computing solutions, along with an innovative, partner-oriented marketing strategy", Richard Seibt explains. "This allows both large and small companies to operate or have operated their IT infrastructure in a very cost-effective and efficient way, thus paving the way for a gradual migration to a cloud computing environment."

visionapp AG designs, builds and implements highly efficient IT systems based on a self-developed cloud computing architecture designed for operation by the customer, by a third party or a combination of both. The focus is on the optimization of business processes, simplification of the IT operation and a significant reduction of IT-related cost. Since 2007, visionapp has been offering a multi-tenant and fully automated SaaS platform for a wide range of applications "as a service" from its own data center. The visionapp products are sold through a network of qualified partners. With double-digit growth rates achieved over the last few years, visionapp was able to gain a strong position in the fast-growing cloud computing market. Currently, more than 10,000 large and medium-sized companies around the world are using visionapp products.
