Beginning as Project Starship at Dresdner Bank almost a decade ago, visionapp has developed into a global brand. The founders' vision - to provide all users with the information, applications, and services they need, from anywhere at any time - has led to creating a strong international business. Today, visionapp has grown from a 20-person project team into a company represented by 7 divisions in 4 countries, with over 160 dedicated employees.

Here's how visionapp was born, and how the organization has progressed over the past decade.

visionapp is expanding its strategic positioning in the cloud computing environment. As part of the partnership strategy, the American subsidiary will be spun off through a management buy-out. As from July 2010, the visionapp NA, Inc. changed to 'Claros, Inc., a strategic partner, which mentain the customer in the United States.

visionapp announced another 2,000 clients and strategic resellers in the first quarter of 2009. The company's software is a finalist for Citrix Ready Solution of the Year award. In December visionapp occupied the position of CEO with Jürgen Gallmann.

visionapp takes the first steps to transform into a public company, with visionapp GmbH becoming visionapp AG, with employees becoming shareholders, and gaining visionapp's first external investors. visionapp's international business grows, acquiring USA-based iQurious Corporation and founding visionapp UK Ltd. A commitment to the reseller channel helps visionapp hit 6,000 customers by the end of the year.

A banner year for both technology innovations and company revenue. visionapp hits its revenue target of 20 million Euros. The acquisition of Masterbit GmbH expands both the visionapp software portfolio and its consulting expertise. visionapp makes great strides in the new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) market: the world's first standardized and fully automated SaaS portal for resellers and end users, called visionapp Virtual Office (VIVIO), is introduced; the first SaaS "White Label" platform for telecommunications service providers, IT companies and software developers is also released.

visionapp launches the freeware tool "visionapp Remote Desktop", which soon gains thousands of users. The company gains its independence from Dresdner Bank through a management buyout. Success in the reseller channel continues, and visionapp begins to develop a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering to fully automate the provisioning of different application and services for small and midsized businesses.

visionapp adds a subsidiary in Switzerland and expands operations in the United Kingdom, further growing the international business. The first international partners begin selling visionapp software products, and larger international clients in the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Benelux join the expanding ranks of satisfied customers. Barclays Bank, one of the three largest banks in the world, begins one of the largest IT centralization projects with visionapp.

visionapp launches its first commercially available software products; the comprehensive solution suite for centralized application provisioning helps drive annual revenue to of 9 million Euros. visionapp also launches its first international divisions in Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and the United Kingdom. Projects expand beyond the financial sector into engineering, trade, and public services.

visionapp acquires solution provider "asp4you" to further develop the growing consulting business. visionapp completes successful projects in the banking sector, winning long-term outsourcing and managed services contracts for some of the largest banks in Europe.

The success of Project Starship leads to a spinoff of the Dresdner Bank project team into a wholly-owned subsidiary. The "On-Premise" solution created by Project Starship?now visionapp?attracts some of the largest banks in Europe as new customers. The newly-formed visionapp wins an award for the most innovative Application Service Provider (ASP) Solution at CeBIT 2002. visionapp's software development team begins to work in cooperation with Microsoft USA, which begins one of visionapp's longest and most valuable technology partnerships.

?Project Starship? begins at Dresdner Bank. It's one of the largest application consolidation projects in Germany. Based on Microsoft and Citrix technology, the project results in a rollout of 4,000 seats in 2001, a consolidation of applications (from 600 to 240), and unqualified success.
