As opposed to the previous version, the administration user interface is a 32-bit application used for the visionapp Access Portal configuration and for all Citrix WebInterface and Secure Gateway settings. In addition, a web-based user administration interface is available for important operational tasks. For instance, creating messages for users or analyzing log data could be done from any site or client device, if required.

This interface offers the administrator structured management of all the necessary portal resources, such as Windows Terminal Server (WTS) or Citrix MetaFrame/Presentation Server components and Web-based applications. Application resource administration provides a broad range of options for managing access to applications. Access can be optimized to certain conditions, such as the user's bandwidth. Defaults for multiple languages and multi-site functionality can be centrally defined and modified based on the needs of the different organizational and enterprise units, including the various corporate design specifications of the different units within the enterprise. Design and layout requirements are easily accommodated through the administration interface.

Especially for the portal environment, the administration interface offers functions for logging application calls and errors. The central log function enables even large environments to be monitored efficiently and effectively. User administration through this interface offers additional capabilities. Sites can be created and managed, and portal user profiles displayed and edited.

A multi-level authorization design safeguards access to the administrative interface. Administrative access is role-based and can be finely tuned to restrict the user's view to authorized administrative activities only (hotline, user management, etc.). Site-specific administrators can also be similarly defined, enabling them to simultaneously perform certain administrative tasks without interfering with one another.
